Gabriel Dominguez-Contreras, LMHC, MCAP

Director of Clinical Services

Gabriel Dominguez-Contreras is the director of clinical services at The Refuge, where he oversees the development, implementation, and quality of clinical programming. Gabriel is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Certified Master’s Level Addiction Professional with more than a decade of experience providing mental health and substance use counseling to individuals, families, couples, and groups across multiple levels of care.

He earned his Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Carlos Albizu University in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Throughout his career, Gabriel has held leadership, management, and clinical roles in residential, outpatient, and medication-assisted treatment settings.

Gabriel is bilingual in Spanish and English and is passionate about fostering compassionate, empathetic, and culturally responsive care. In his leadership role, he is committed to supporting clinical teams, maintaining high standards of treatment quality, and ensuring that clients receive ethical, effective, and individualized care throughout their recovery journey.
