Vanessa Hinklein, MA, LMHC, MCAP
Vanessa has 20 years experience in the mental health and substance use fields, working with people who exhibit with severe and persistent mental health and substance use disorders. She has a specialization in trauma informed care working with those families involved with domestic violence, family violence and marriage and family troubles. Vanessa came to work for the Refuge after working in many settings including inpatient, outpatient and involuntary treatment arenas. Vanessa had been an advocate for people throughout Circuit 5 in central Florida and Suffolk County, New York. Vanessa possesses leadership and organizational skills as she was the Clinical Director of an outpatient substance use facility in New York. She has an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice and Human Relations from St. Leo University in St. Leo, Florida and a graduate degree in Professional Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Vanessa holds a license in mental health counseling and is a masters level certified addictions professional. Vanessa has the flexibility to work with the co-occurring population and focus on addictions, trauma and marriage and family issues. Vanessa believes in healing the whole person and their family. Vanessa has a deep rooted belief in the 12-step programs this coupled with her holistic and outdoorsy nature she is a perfect addition to the Refuge.
