Shaun Anderson, M.Ed/Ed.S
Shaun received a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Florida, and is working towards full licensure within the state of Florida. Shaun worked previously as an intern at The Refuge during his graduate studies, where he became connected to the heart of what The Refuge offers each and every client. Shaun has experience working with trauma, crisis, addiction, and eating disorders. His main passion in counseling relates to creating safe spaces for all that enter into treatment through acknowledging multicultural and systemic issues that are present, and promoting equity within the community here at The Refuge. Shaun also works to serve the LGBTQ+ community and promote an environment of inclusion, non-judgment and support for staff and clients alike. He translates this into his framework for counseling clients through empowering clients to unburden themselves of their guilt and shame and to instead embrace authenticity and self-acceptance.
