Jaclyne Smith, BSW, MSW
Jaclyne received a BSW from the University of Georgia and Masters in both Public Health and Social Work from Washington University in Saint Louis. During her graduate studies she provided counseling and case management services to homeless veterans and conducted research examining the impact of PTSD of on pregnant female veterans. Prior to her work at The Refuge, she worked at a substance abuse facility where she provided group and individual therapy on an impatient women’s trauma unit. She is familiar with a variety of trauma therapy approaches and self-soothing skills designed to help reduce the symptoms of depression, anxiety and disassociation. She utilizes an eclectic and individualized approach to help create a safe space for clients to explore the impacts of trauma. She is pursuing interests in both EMDR and Internal Family Systems. She holds an LMSW in the state of Georgia and is pursuing licensure in the state of Florida.
