Sam comes to The Refuge with 20 years of work in the fields of mental health and addiction. In the course of his career he has developed, written and implemented a variety of clinical interventions and curriculum for dual diagnosed clients as well as working as a practicing therapist. Prior to coming to The Refuge, Sam worked with non-profit agencies and criminal justice clients. Aside from his direct work in forensics, Sam is adjunct faculty for Daytona Beach Community College, a certified trainer in addictions by the Florida Certification Board and continues to conduct training, extensive research and writing in the field of addictions and mental health. His clinical experience, education, and his deep caring and compassion for providing quality treatment has been a driving force in his career.
