Laurel comes to The Refuge with 20 years experience as a clinician in residential substance abuse treatment. Laurel is trained in Somatic Experience, an innovative trauma resolution therapy in addition to being remarkably experienced in dealing with clients who suffer from unresolved PTSD, addiction and obsessive/compulsive disorders. Laurel is a Primary Therapist at The Refuge working with her clients in small groups and individually focusing on recovery from chemical dependency and trauma resolution. Prior to The Refuge, Laurel supervised a residential program for adult women and mothers where she created and implemented a caring and nurturing addictions program that was truly client centered restoring women to feel value and hope in themselves and their children. Laurel’s skills are a valuable part of The Refuge program.
