Intensive Outpatient
At The Refuge Transitions Wellness Center & IOP, we specialize in the treatment of PTSD "Post Traumatic Stress Disorder", Complex Trauma Resolution, Substance Abuse, and Co-occurring addictions. Our belief is based on the premise of healing with care, spirituality, and gentleness.
The goal of our Wellness Center and IOP is to help our clients feel safe enough to conquer their fears and overcome their internal obstacles. We help validate and encourage our clients' ability to recover using experiential and traditional treatment techniques in both group and individual sessions. The combination of care and compassion from highly skilled and dedicated staff specifically trained in multiple addictions and trauma resolution is what we give each client.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP):
Our evening IOP provides a complete array of therapeutic services including Assessment, Education, Process Therapy, 12 Step Recovery, Experiential Therapy and Peer Support. Throughout this program, participants will receive psychological, social and alcohol/drug assessments, an individualized treatment plan, and continuing care recommendations. The IOP is specifically targeted for adults 18 years and older who are experiencing substance abuse problems. We can accept clients who are court mandated and those who are seeking help and support.
Programs that we offer
Driver Improvement
This program is for those who have had alcohol/drug related citations and must complete counseling as a requirement of regaining driving privileges. Clients are expected to actively participate in this program including completion of homework assignments and attendance in 12 step recovery programs.
Women's Group
Women Healing Women was developed to build and maintain support for women who have survived sexual abuse and unhealthy relationships and who are rising above the suffering of Complex PTSD and Trauma. Our philosophy is to support those suffering with a complexity of issues for successful recovery. Derived from The Refuge-A Healing Place programs, our women's group offers a wide range of clinical modalities and services built on the strength of 12 Step Recovery Principles, Research Based Intervention, Holistic Treatment Ideology, and nurturing the resiliency of each client.
Men's Group
Our clients experience both giving and receiving acceptance, support, and genuine connection. We recognize the potential in our clients' lives for greater authenticity of expression and interaction with the world around them. Trauma/PTSD are often hidden factors that separate men from their loved ones. Our Men's group is about creating and re-establishing healthy, intimate connections with each other and within ourselves. The powerful dynamic of trauma-based process therapy can work miracles and allows us to feel serenity, freedom, cohesion, and strength from our past experiences.
SLA Group
Sexual compulsivity or sexual compulsion, the preoccupation with sexualized thinking can consume one's life leading to deeply dangerous behaviors. There are many aspects to Sex Addiction. Treatment is available to help clients break out of their denial, understand the etiology of their addiction and get involved in the freeing aspect of recovery. With treatment one can enjoy healthy intimacy once again.
Eating Disorder Group
Eating Disorders affect men and women and can progress to be a life threatening illness. Eating Disorders may include Compulsive Eating, Restricting (Anorexia), Bingeing and Purging (Bulimia) or chronic disgust with one's appearance (Body Dysmorphia). There is treatment and help to heal from an Eating Disorder and Refuge Transitions Wellness Center has specifically trained therapists who can compassionately help those seeking advice or assistance.
Adult Children of Alcoholic and Dysfunctional Homes Group
This group is intended to assist the adult child in finding the relationship between what happened to us as children and how this has affected us as adults in the positive and negative. With support from the group we will guide each member to re-parent the hurting inner child within and find a new sense of hope and acceptance, allowing your true self to emerge in a nurturing atmosphere.
Outpatient Substance Abuse Education
Educational, Dynamic and 12 step orienting classes are designed for those who have come to the awareness that drinking or using drugs has caused problems in their life. Substance Abuse can effect educational, personal, family, and economic situations that seem to get out of control. Attendance In this class helps one understand addiction and substance abuse, aspects of recovery, and other vital aspects of personal growth and recovery.
